  • Huck didn't think Jim had feelings just because of him being a different color. Then he sees Jim cry and realizes they're both humans just look different.

  • Society teaches them about slavery and tells them it is not wrong but Huck believes it is wrong and wants to help Jim.
  • Superstition
  • Many of the things in the story an adult would not do which is an import part of the story.
  • Widow Douglas and Mrs. Watson tried to get Huck to go to church.
  • Throughout the book Jim was always superstitious and thought they were guided by it.
