  • Peer pressure is when someone pushes another person to do something that they may or may not want to do.
  • This is mostly common around the teenage years because kids want to fit in and try new things.
  • Peer pressure is a challenge for teens because they want to fit in.
  • They don't want to look like a baby or a loser.
  • You need to make sure to find friends who respect your decisions. Fashion choice is a type of peer pressure. Peer pressure can affect your academic performance
  • 50% of teens feel pressured into sex. 1/3 of teens who try drugs for pain feel pressured into it. Peer pressure can lower self esteem
  • Something that can help get away from peer pressure is to practice saying "no"
  • You can do this in the mirror, to a friend or family member, or just out loud.
  • Sadly, there is not much that can be done about peer pressure. We can just try and make sure to follow our instincts, and do what WE want to do, not others.
