  • Hoai Vu
  • Are you 6 or something?
  • You can call me Dill.
  • yikes
  • COOL!
  • COOL!
  • Summers were always fun for Jem and I. It'd get repetitive but we still played. One summer, we met Dill. He was always playing with us in the summer. He became interested in making Boo Radley come out his house after we told him about the gloomy house and the people inside.
  • DON'T SAY THAT ABOUT HIM!
  • AHHHHH!
  • One day, he dared Jem to touch the side of the house. Jem did, but it gave me a bad feeling. A few days later, I accidentally rolled into the house's yard and the most uneasiest feeling came to me. After that, it was like I almost became scared of the place.
  • School began for me. I didn't like it, I wasn't allowed to read or write. Me and Jem started finding small gifts in a hole in the sidewalk near the Radley's fence. We were going to give a letter but Nathan Radley covered up the hole.
  • Word started getting around that Atticus was defending a black man in court. Everyone called Atticus names. I was mad at that and fought them, but he told me not to do anything and instead ignore them. I ended up punching my cousin only once.
  • Later, Atticus defended Tom Robinson, the black man, in court. Although there was clear evidence Tom didn't do anything, the jury voted him as guilty. Jem was upset about it for days. Atticus was threatened by Ewell, the man who was actually guilty.
  • While walking home from the Halloween party at school, we were attacked by Mr. Ewell. He managed to break Jem's arm but someone saved us and brought us home. It turned out that Mr. Ewell had a knife and accidentally stabbed himself. I realized that our saviour was Boo Radley himself. I walked him home and understood him a little more.
