  • Although slavery already existed in Africa it was not everywhere. There was culture, tradition and freedom for many others.
  • After a shortage of slaves, Africa was the next option. They arrived in search of slaves and were willing to trade.
  • Many African chiefs and king were very willing to trade othe rafricns for guns and resources. the slaves were treated poorly by the Europeans as they could not relate to them
  • The slaves were shipped across the middle passage. a journey that was dangerous. slaves died form lack of food, disease and suicide.
  • Slaves were dropped off at ports and sold to those who needed them, their freedom completely lost as they became another humans property.
  • Slaves were often used on plantations to do the labor that "the white man' wished not to do. Africans often had their whole lives, family and culture taken from them as they were thrown into European culture.
