  • Conflict "No General, I will not hunt." (Connell 73)
  • Rising Action "You,ll find this game worth playing," the general said. Your word against mine. Your strength against mine Outdoor chess! And the stake is not without value eh?" (Connell 74)
  • I'll give him a trail to follow," muttered Rainsford, and he struck off from the rude path he had been following into the trackless wilderness. (Connell 75)
  • "Even so zealous of a hunter as General Zaroff could not trace him there he told himself." (Connell 75)
