  • The narrator is explaining what it is like to give up your entire life for someone. He talks about waiting for someone who is away but still being happy with only the thought of them being back. Even though they may be cheating with you you will never think ill of them.

  • The narrator uses the metaphor of being a slave in reference to his love for his partner. Although he uses this in a positive way. He then says that he does not see her absence as sour .
  • T - Title
  • The tone seems to at first be regret because he gave his entire life away but as we progress through the sonnet we see the tone is really happiness.
  • T - Theme

  • At the end of the first section we see the sonnet change from seeming regret to happiness.
  • The title is saying that he lives just for her and what she wants, without feeling jealous of her other affairs.
  • The theme is that if you love someone enough, or want something bad enough, you would be willing to do anything.
