The trial for Tom Robinson on the rape and beating done to Mayella Violet Ewell.
The trial for Tom Robinson's case begins with Judge Taylor as the Jury and Atticus is supporting Tom by trying to prove him innocent.
Sheriff Heck Tate says that when he got to the scene, Mayella was badly beaten and he had seen Tom Robinson fleeing from the area.
Mayella's father says that he saw Tom Robinson beating his daughter through the window and that he had decided to stay out of the situation.
Mayella claims that what her father had said was what had happened and that Tom had indeed raped her against her attempts to break away from him.
Tom tries to explain truthfully that Mayella was seducing him and was trying to tempt him in to her home. He tried to escape/resist without hurting her.
The trial ends with Tom being found guilty and is thrown into jail for a crime he didn't commit.
