The Witches gather and predict that Macbeth will (a) be the future thane of Cawdor (b) The future King
Just as the Witches predicted, a message was sent to Macbeth telling him that King Duncan wants to see him to dub him Thane of Cawdor. Macbeth goes, and later asks him if he would like to come to his castle for dinner.
Macbeth had sent a letter to Lady Macbeth to tell her about the Witches. With Lady Macbeth being power hungry as she is, she tells Macbeth that he needs to kill King Duncan so he can hold the thrown and all the POWER!!!
After the talk with Lady Macbeth, Macbeth is contemplating whether or not he should go with this deed. All of a sudden, Macbeth hallucinates a dagger with blood dripping off the blade foreshadowing what he is wanting to do to King Duncan.
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth's plan prevailed...King Duncan is no more. Thus, the Witches prophecy can come true.
After the death of their father, Duncan, Malcom and Donalbain decide it is best for them to leave so they aren't the next of their kind to be killed.
