  • In the summer of year 64 A.D. A fire burned in Rome that burned for six days and seven nights The fire consumed ¾ of the city. The people of Rome blamed the emperor, Nero for the fire.
  • My beautiful palace. Now I should go watch the persecutions.
  • In order to stop the rumor, Nero blamed the Christians for the fire.
  • 313 A.D.
  • Nero persecuted the Christians by, covering the Christians with the hides of wild beasts, and he send dogs to attack them. Some Christians were nailed to crosses, or set on fire.
  • Emperor Nero took advantage of the fire by building a palace on it. He enjoyed the persecutions.
  • In 313 A.D. Western Roman Emperor Constantine I and Eastern Roman Emperor Licinius ratified the Edict of Milan. This meant that Christianity was now legal in the state.
