In 1945, a border was established at the 38th parallel in Korea. The north was controlled by the communist Soviets with American troops in the south.
In 1950, North Korea Invaded South Korea
During the Korean War, America took Seoul back from North Korea at the Battle of Inchon in 1950.
President Truman fired Douglas MacArthur, the highest ranked general in the military.
In 1953, Korea was once again split up at the 38th parallel. No official peace treaty was signed.
