  • This is Watt Tyler.
  • All over the South East of England, peasants began to rebel. 
  • FIRE!
  • Peasants burned important books, papers and documents
  • He'll have no records or letters at all!
  • The Lord won't know who to tax!
  • Ball had been put in prison for encouraging peasants to revolt against their Lords
  • A few peasants broke into Maidstone prison to free a priest called John Ball.
  • Come with us- we're going to London
  • in June, more than 60,000 peasants marched towards London. They chose a former soldier, Watt Tyler, as their leader. The Gatekeepers let the rebels in as they didn't like the rich Lords either.
  • The irate peasants ran riot and burned down the houses of all the rich Lords.
  • When the King realised that even The Tower of London wasn't safe, he knew he had to meet up with the rebels once more...
  • The king decided to meet up with Watt Tyler on the River Thames. Tyler told the king that the peasants wanted higher wages and didn't want to be forced to work for the Lords for free.
  • Tyler! The mob has murdered people. This cant go on any longer, what do you want?
  • Meanwhile, some peasants broke into the Tower of London and murdered  the Archbishop of Canterbury and the King's treasurer.
