RI4 By: Liz Tillman
Hello my name is Lauren, today I will share some information about finding the meaning of word , which is standard RI4. Let's take a look at my notebook. Figurative language is a perfect example of finding the meaning of words. the girl is not really lightning, she is just very fast like lighting, and the metaphor helps us imagine it better. Metaphors aren't just the only forms of figurative language, but with almost all of them you need to think what the writer wants you to get from that figurative language.
Literal meaning is what it means word for word. Figurative language makes words more interesting usually doesn't mean what it says. Example literal: the girl ran very fast at track practice. Example figurative: The girl was lighting at track practice.
