How it started and how it ended
After a tie in the election in 1800. The house of reps breaks the tie and Thomas Jefferson is president. Aaron is the runner up(Vice President)
Thomas jefferson is president and the Aaron Burr is vice president
Election of 1800
But in the election of 1804 Jefferson didn't want Burr as his running mate because of complications of Jefferson's last term
And because of Jefferson the Federalists were losing money and wanted Burr to run for governor as a Federalist. But Hamilton campaigned against Burr intensely. But after a while Burr just ran as an independent.
I cant believe this ¨Burr¨ character is running for governor. Ill do anything I can to stop him!
After Hamilton savagely attack Burr´s person. Burr wants the rebuild his reputation by challenging Hamilton to an ¨Affair of Honor,¨or a duel.
I challenge you to a duel!
On July 11, 1804 at 7 am, the two rivals met near weehawken, New Jersey.Witness' say that Hamilton fired into the air. but burr says that Hamilton missed. But one thing is certain, Hamilton got shot in his stomach and the bullet was lodged near his spine and Hamilton died later in the afternoon
I don't think an affair of honor could ever be justified. You're killing a human and doing something you really don't need to do. These Affairs of Honor could have easily been solved peacefully without killing someone. So this can't be justified
