This thunder and rain has ruined our day at the beach! We wish we could know about electricity and electrical safety!
Don´t worry! I'm the electricity fairy, and I can teach you all about electricity!
First, an electric circuit is a complete unbroken path in which charges can flow. A short circuit is a connection that allows a current to take an unintended path.
A fuse is a safety device with a thin metal strip that will melt if too much current passes through the circuit. A series circuit is an electric circuit with one path.
A circuit breaker is a reusable safety switch that breaks the circuit when it becomes to high. A parallel circuit is an electric circuit with multiple paths.
A wet cell is an electromagnetic cell in which the electrolyte is a liquid. A dry cell is an electrochemical cell in which the electrolyte is a paste.
Thanks for teaching us all about electricity and circuits!
