Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Rising Action
  • Conflict
  • This story is about a young girl from Pakistan named Malala. She lives with her mom, Tor Pekai, and her dad, Ziauddin.
  • Climax
  • Which one of you is Malala?!
  • Suddenly, an organization called the Taliban popped up. They had very strict view of Islam. They believed that women should stay inside to clean and cook and that they shouldn't get an education. If a woman were to go outside, they were required to cover themselves up. Malala had a hard time following these rules because she didn't think they were very fair.
  • Falling Action
  • Despite the Taliban bombing schools and shaming women who went outside, Malala still went to school and helped her mother run errands outside. BBC also asks Malala to keep a diary about her life with the Taliban. They also interview her which makes Malala's opinions about the Taliban public.
  • Resolution
  • One day while Malala was heading to school for the day in a bus, a man also came in with a gun. He demanded to know who Malala was but the girls stayed silent. The girls sort of glanced at Malala and the man shot her on the spot hitting two other girls as well.
  • Malala is rushed to a military hospital close by and they perform brain surgery on her. Even though at first she seems fine, the doctors begin to insist that she may lose her life because of the poor quality of Pakistani hospitals so she is transferred to a hospital in England instead.
  • Her parents come to see her in the hospital and while she is there she learns she has become famous because of the shooting. Celebrities send her cards and flowers while more people begin to speak out against the Taliban because Malala inspired them.
