  • I'm telling you, a whale! I hooked a whale!
  • You are such a liar! You never caught whale! You have no proof!
  • Ambroise took the bankers son, a boy who must not lie, out to watch him catch another whale.
  • You caught it!
  • Clovis was there. He's my witness. An honest witness. He saw it all. He'll tell you that the whale got away just about a mile from here.
  • Ambroise is a liar. I never saw him catch a whale!
  • Everyone who heard made fun of him, laughed at him. Ambroise was crushed by Clovis's double dealing that he ran away and hid away from everyone.
  • Ambroise, I apologize. Forgive me...I misunderstood your lie about the whale!
  • When he decided to go home, he found Gabrielle, a girl he fancied, with his mother in the kitchen.
  • But, It wasn't a....
  • No...no.
  • When you told your story for the 2nd time today, I was disgusted. I knew you were trying to impress me. I got home, and began to think about it. Know what I decided?
  • It's a lucky girl who has a fellow who'll go against everyone just for her, simply just to impress her, to win her...
  • Ambroise took her hand and lead her around the village. So everyone could see, in spite of everything he'd made the best catch of his life...and to hell with the whale!
