Storyboard Text

  • Darkness
  • When the hurlyburly's done, When the battle's lost and won
  • When shall we three meet again In thunder, lightning, or in rain?
  • Darkness
  • Come, you spirits, That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full, Of direst cruelty. Make thick my blood.
  • Darkness
  • We shall, my lord, Perform what you command us.
  • Though our lives—
  • Your spirits shine through you. Within this hour at most, I will advise you where to plant yourselves, Acquaint you with the perfect spy o' th' time, The moment on ’t; for ’t must be done tonight, And something from the palace; always thought, That I require a clearness.
  • The image of darkness is present throughout the entire play representing evil.  The witches are probably the biggest example of this because they are the definition of evil, they are the ones who bring darkness into the world
  • The image of darkness continues within lady Macbeth as she summons the evil spirits to help her with her task of killing king Duncan in his innocent sleep.
  • Darkness still follows Macbeth as he sends two killers to kill his best friend. Darkness has clouded his mind and he no longer can see the light.
