  • Hmmm?
  • easy peasy lemon-squezy
  • Um excuse me Ms. Cathone I don't understand how exponents work.
  • Hmmm?
  • RING, RING,RING!
  • Okay Francine so exponents are numbers that tell how many times the base is used as the factor. Like 10 to the third power is 10x10x10.
  • Sometimes it also determines the number of zeros in the product. 10x10x10 has 3 zeros the, same as the exponent. But there can also be hidden zeros in expressions such as, 5x 20 to the 2nd power. 20x20 equals 400 but then 5 times 400 equals 2,000. Simple, okay.
  • Oh yeah, thanks Ms. Cathone!
  • Hop on the bus kids!
  • Now I know exactly what exponents are!
  • Bye kids!
