  • Thales (624-547 B.C., Ionian) was a Greek philosopher who traveled widely in Mesopotamia and Egypt, and brought astronomical records from these cultures back to Greece
  • My  name is   Thales and  my  theory  was that arth  was flat
  • Anaximander (611-547 B.C., Ionian) was a Greek philosopher who made the first detailed maps of the Earth and the sky.
  • My name is Copernicus and my theory was that Earth revolved around the sun (heliocentrism)
  • Galileo Galilei (1564-1642, Italian) is the father of observational astronomy. In 1609, he heard about the Dutch invention of the telescope, and built one for himself.
  • My name is Galileo  and my theory was evidence about  heliocentrisim
  • Thales belived that the earth was flat because the greeks knew the earth was round in the six century  B.C
  • Anaximander (611-547 B.C., Ionian) was a Greek philosopher who made the first detailed maps of the Earth and the sky.
  • My  name is   Anaximander  and my theory was that the Earth was cylindrical
  • Copernican heliocentrism is the name given to the astronomical model developed by Nicolaus .... Since Copernicus' hypothesis was believed to contradict the Old Testament account of the Sun's movement around the Earth
  • Aristotle (384-322 B.C., Greek), the great philosopher, proved that the Earth is spherical
  • My name is   Aristole  and my theory  was that the Earth was  a sphere and that the sun  spun  around  it
  • It seems that Galileo and the rest of those supporting the Copernican theory did ...  was  based on the well known fact that all heavy objects fall to ... the earth, and presenting changes in the heavens, contrary to the Aristotelian ... Newton was the man who supplied crucial proof in favor of the heliocentric theory.
  • Pythagoras (569-475 B.C., Ionian) was a mathematician who put forward the idea that the universe is made of crystal spheres that encircle the Earth.
  • My name is   Pythagoras  and my theory is that the   Earth had crystal spheres  spun around it
  • Anaximander was a pre-Socratic Greek philosopher who lived in Miletus, a city of Ionia (in ... One thing that is not debatable is that even the ancient Greeks considered Anaximander to be from the Monist
  • Aristole belived  that the earth was a sphere because the earths shadow on the moon during a lunar eclipse  is always round
  • •The ecliptic is the plane defined by the Earth's orbit around the Sun; ..... -Another belief attributed toPythagoras was that of the "harmony of the spheres". .... wobbling motion around the Earth's axis that the Earth makes as it spins (just like the ..... --ptolemy and aristotle believed the planets were held in solid crystal spheres
