  • Characterization               Wisty and Whit are characterized as loyal. When Whit gets tired of running away from the soldiers, Wisty decides to help. Since wisty is a witch she turned into a tiger so, Whit can get on her back.
  • "After I recite the weird poem, the next thing I know, I'm on all fours, black-orange-and-white fur...' But lets not experiment if we don't have to, especially with me on your back' "(135).
  • "We're speeding down an empty six-lane highway with those New Order billboards lining both sides"(145). 
  • New Order

  • Imagery       Whit and Wisty both got caught. Now they're heading back to their worst nightmare. The New Order. Even Wisty was getting car sick because of it. 
  • Flashback               Wisty was very mad cause she had fallen for Eric. She wouldn't be running away from the New Order. If she didn't have fall for Eric, they wouldn't be in this situation right now.          
  • " 'We would'nt be here today if I hadn't fallen for...Eric' "(144).
  • "That drumstick is my magic wand..."(110).
  • Symbolism         This wand/magic symbolizes strength. Whenever Wisty is strong she can use it even more powerful as when she is weak.
  • Theme    The theme for the book is to trust no one. So many people in this book that Whit and Wisty interact with are always bad in some way. Like Eric, The One Who Is The One, and even more.
