Honors English...where to begin? How about Tuesday, September 11, 2017. The day that I thought my prospects for college were definitely over.
Is our society succeeding or failing? DUE TOMORROW!
Not many of the students believed they would do well. In fact, like me, they thought they were sure to fail this class.
Am I a right fit for honors?
I have so much work to do. How will I ever get this done?
I got home late at night after field hockey and had an emotional breakdown. Was this much homework to be expected all year?
11:19 P.M. I finish the English assignment after nearly four hours. 1:00 A.M. I give up on life and go to bed. 5:00 A.M. I wake up to finish the rest of my homework before I need to officially wake up.
The day finally comes when my grade is posted. Although I kept telling myself I wouldn't check it, I did. Low and behold-I hadn't failed!
It was then that I realized an honors class might not be so bad. Sure, it would require a lot of effort, but I was willing to put in the work. With determination and hard work, I believed I would make it out alive.
