  • Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, in 1889 in the small Austrian town of Braunau to Alois Hitler with his wife Klara who was for as a poor peasant. At school, Hitler had lots of potential and was very popular with his classmates. Later, He thought that secondary school was harder, so he stopped trying.
  • World War II
  • At the age of 15, Hitler was told to repeat the year due to failing exams, but he left without a formal education instead. At 18, he moved to Vienna using the money from his father's death in 1903. Hitler became interested in politics around this time and became intrigued about how the masses could be made to respond to certain themes.
  • Withdrawl
  • During the First World War, he volunteered to fight for the German army and gained the rank of corporal. In October 1918 He was blinded in a mustard gas attack and spent his days in the hospital in great state of depression, spending lots of time in tears. In 1921, he was soon named the leader of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nazi).
  • Death in 1945
  • By 1923, Hitlers party grew and he had 56,000 members and many more supporters. Hitler put Germany's unemployed to work on a massive rearmament program, using propaganda, manufacturing enemies, such as Jews, to prepare the country for wars. He then invaded Poland the Second World War started.
  • Hitler had conquered much of Western Europe now. In 1941, Germany had invaded Russia under Operation Barbarossa, which was one of Hitler's greatest mistakes. Hitler withdrew almost entirely.
  • In 1944, there was an assassination attempt that failed and in response, Hitler stepped up the atmosphere of suspicion and terror. Hitler committed suicide on April 30th in 1945. Germany's surrender came soon after.
