Storyboard Text

  • Sediments sit on a river bed.
  • The sediments compact into sedimentary rocks. They are cemented by the river water.
  • The rock undergoes heat and pressure, changing it into metamorphic rock deep within the Earth
  • The heating of the metamorphic rock turns it into magma.
  • The magma turns into lava as it exits the volcano. The lava starts cooling until it solidifies into igneous rock.
  • The rock is weathered and eroded by the movement of the water. It is broken down into sediments. And the cycle starts again.
