Battle of fort Sumter
April 12th 1861, General P.G.T Beauregard, in command of confederate forces, opened fire near Charles harbor on fort Sumter. Later the next day Major Robert Anderson surrendered the fort.
November 7th 1861, Union forces under Ulysses S. Grants Overrun a confederate camp, but are later forced to flee. Although Grant had claimed victory.
Battle of Belmont
July 1st to July 3rd 1863, Considered the most important battle of the civil war. General Robert E. Lee brought is army to Pennsylvania. On July 1st they fought with the Union’s Army of the Potomac, in commanded of General George G. Meade, In Gettysburg. On July 2nd they continued fighting, and July 3rd 15,000 troops were ordered to attack the enemy at there as but still lost the battle and brought his army back to Virginia on July 4th.
