Hey, I'm a plant and an autotroph. That means I can make my own food, called glucose, and it also means I am not a heterotroph. I'm getting hungry. Want to come with me to the photosynthesis grocery store so I can pack a lunch?
Here I am at the thylakoid checkout, getting my food so I can go home and pack a lunch for later.
I'm back at my chloroplast kitchen. This is where my chlorophyll is, which is what makes me have a green pigment! I'm using sunlight and oxygen to make my lunch. I also make sure to pack lots of water -
Oh no! I forgot to get water! I'll ask Xylem to bring it to me.
Here's your water! Guard Cell almost didn't let me come bring it to you but I convinced her. I hope you don't mind but Phloem came along too and brought some sugar because I heard you were running out!
Yay! Thanks to my friends, I have a nice packed lunch with everything I need for later.
Next I think I'll make a packed lunch full of carbon dioxide to give away to people who need it. Maybe Stomata can help me with my Carbon Fixation!
