  • "I'm said it was insomnia! You fools! You're scared, frightened rabbits, all of you! You're letting something begin that's a nightmare!"
  • I said it was Insomnia! You fools! You're scared,frightened rabbits!
  • Shoot the monster!
  • "As the figure gets closer and closer, he suddenly pulls the trigger...........Steve:(looks up) Its Pete Van Horn."
  • The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street:Theme:Fear and suspicion can lead violence and hatred.
  • Its Pete Van Horn!
  • So much pain......
  • "Charlie: No! No, please!' .....A man breaks away from the crowd to chase Charlie."
  • Aaahhhhhhhh! Arrrggghhhh!
  • No! No, please!
  • Les Goodman's car started up all by itself. Tommy said before that there were aliens. Steve and the crowd were suspicious that Les Goodman was the alien. Les gets mad at the people of Maple Street. Les says he is not the alien. Les is horrified because he has known the people for a long time.
  • Everything is in chaos. The people of Maple Street are filled with suspicion, fear, and hatred. Charlie is a person that always tries to find a scapegoat, and never wants to take the blame. A figure walks toward the crowd, and no one knows who it is. Charlie thinks it is the monster and shoots the figure. They find that it was Pete Wan Horn, one of their innocent neighbors.
  • The people of Maple Street are turning on Charlie and other people as well. Charlie shot Pete Van Horn, an innocent man. Charlie thought he was a monster. So he shot him. The crowd is even more angry. Why would Charlie shoot an innocent man. Pete Van horn could have had personal information.Everybody is turning on different people. A man is trying to kill Charlie.
