HIV viruses can have many effects on the human body and can spread through bodily fluids, but cannot spread through air, water, and casual contact. Anyone of any age can contract HIV. Once inside the body HIv can affect cells that are in the immune system. The overall virus tries to target helper T cells which are part of the immune system and help defend the body against bacterial and fungal infections.
