Storyboard Text

  • While celebrating Grendel's mother crashes the party. She smashes in and takes away Esher (Hrothgar's closest friend) in her tight claws. She takes him and Grendel's arm back to her home (the marsh) and then kills Esher. Beowulf, Hrothgar, and his thanes arrive at the marsh. When there they see Esher's bloody head floating in the murky water. before entering the water to go kill Grendel's mother, Unferth gives Beowulf his old ancient sword called Hrunting. after swimming for hours Beowulf finally reaches the bottom. He swings his sword strait at her head, but it won't slice her evil skin. With his armor broken Beowulf spots a magical sword nailed on the wall by giants. He takes the sword and with all of the strength he had left he slices Grendel's mother's neck and bones. With another victory under his belt Beowulf comes back to Herot carrying Grendel's head by the hair.

  • Once back at Herot Beowulf is given acres of land by Higlac, and Hrothgars battle sword. after many years Higlac dies in battle then offers Beowulf the throne. Beowulf denies the offer so that his cousin Herdred. But shortly after he dies and Beowulf takes the throne. After ruling for 50 years a dragon is disturbed when a slave steals a cup from the dragons layer. After failing to find the slave the dragon goes on a rampage and destroys the whole town. Then Beowulf goes to face the dragon alone. The dragon melts his shield and breaks his sword. After all of his men flee Wiglaf stays to help his king and together defeats the dragon. Beowulf later dies from the dragon's poison. Beowul was burnt and his ashes along with his treasures, were kept in the tallest of towers as a monument for his bravery.
