On December 7, 1941, Japan sent over an airstrike bombing Pearl Harbor in the USA territory. It was an unexpected attack on America, and many American battleships were destroyed.
Infuriated by this attack, President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the Congress made an agreement to declare war against Japan. The USA involvement in World War II begins.
We are going to war.
America sent troops to the Pacific area to counter Japan's invasion. A bloody battle happened in Midway, located in the Pacific islands. In the end, Japan was defeated on the Pacific front of WWII.
It is April 15, and Mr. Tom has yet to pay his national and state taxes. Even worse, he has to include income taxes since he lives in California.
In America, if one does not pay his or her taxes on time, there will be late fees accumulated on top of the taxes needed to be paid. Mr. Tom quickly goes through all the files that includes his tax payments.
Luckily, Mr. Tom finished all his taxes and submitted in time before 12 AM of April 16. He escaped the wrath of the concurrent powers that would ruin his life if he ignored the taxes.
