  • Dear Tris, The Kids in the Dark want you to join us. Let us be your escape from your problems and ⠀⠀⠀meet us at ⠀⠀⠀⠀the cabin ⠀⠀⠀⠀down near ⠀⠀⠀ the lake.

  • Fade up on ECU of parents of Tris Smith arguing. Parents continue to argue as Tris sadly listens to the bickering that happens every single day in her home. Camera cuts over to shot of Tris sighing and walking outside.
  • CUT TO: Tris heading outside to find a mysterious letter on the ground. The background is blurred to focus on the importance of this scene. Confused, she picks it up to see that it is addressed to "A Kid In The Dark."
  • K.I.T.D. ONLY
  • CUT TO: POV of Tris as she reads the letter. Realizing it was meant for her, and is a way to escape the problems she was experiencing at her home, she immediately set off to look for some sort of peace.
  • CUT TO: Running towards the direction of the cabin because for the first time, Tris feels the feeling of hope start to swell inside of her. CUT TO: Close up of Tris' face. She slowly starts to smile for the first time in a while.
  • CUT TO: Shot of cabin with Timothy standing in the shot. Tris runs into the shot and is welcomed by Timothy and others. As they continue talking, Tris is invited into the cabin to find out what "The Kids in the Dark" really are. A larger smile is shown than before.
  • CUT TO: Camera pans around the different people dancing and talking. Shots of different people conversing are shown. CUT TO: Tris realizes that all those kids were neglected like she was, but decided to do something with their life instead of just accept the fact.
