  • Hi class, your safety symbols of the day are toxic, which is a substance that is poisonous if touched, inhaled, or swallowed.  That substance today is bleach and hydrogen peroxide. The other safety symbol is chemical, which can destroy tissue and other materials. For chemical it is also bleach and hydrogen peroxide. So, please be careful.
  • So the instructions say that we need to get our materials: 3 test tubes filled half way with water, food coloring, 3 containers filled with bleach, vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide, and lastly 3 droppers.
  • I can get the supplies. 
  • Okay, great! I will finish reading the instructions, so that we can started when you get back.
  • Olivia (right) and her other classmates walked into the science lab where their teacher was giving them their instructions for the day.  
  • Olivia (right) reads the instructions to her lab partner Melinda (left).
  • Okay. Oh Hey Nancy, how are you?
  • I am going to get started.
  • Melinda volunteers to get the supplies, while Olivia finishes reading the instructions.
  • I dare you to drink that yellow liquid. Maybe it will taste like Red Bull. What if it even gives you wings?!
  • Melinda goes to the shelves that have their tools, and gets the materials she needs.
  • Melinda goes back to table with the materials, and Olivia gets right to work. However, Melinda gets distracted by her friend Nancy.
  • Hey Melinda!
  • After catching up, Nancy dares Melinda to drink the yellow liquid. Neither of them knowing that the yellow liquid contained bleach.
