Being an official trainer & service dog!
After becoming an official service dog, the owners must attend weekly sessions and monthly socialization outings with their new pets. Doing this, will continue the proper socialization of the service dog while keeping them physically fit and happy!
Once training is over, service dogs are required to follow the commands of their trainer and blend in on campus. Inside of buildings, they should be well-behaved and almost seem invisible to people passing by.
After the dog becomes an official service dog, they are also required to execute many of the commands they were taught during their initial training. One of those commands were to sit under a restaurant table for hours at a time, if commanded by their trainer.
Finally, service dog owners are required to shelter and properly take care of their new dogs. Making sure that the dog has a safe place to lay their head and has their basic needs met will keep the dog happy as well as their owner!
