Storyboard Text

  • I'm going out.
  • Be back by 10.
  • LOVE YOU!
  • SEE YOU LATER!!
  • "Let them try and scare me."
  • CRUNCH!!!
  • I became what I am today on August 7, 2013, at the age of 12. When it comes to remembering the past, remembering this moment, it terrifies me. I will always remember the pain and surprise I felt that day.
  • OWWW!!!
  • I remember the precise moment, feeling the excruciating pain sear into my arm out of thin air, and the surprise and nausea that followed.
  • I'm never going out there alone again.
  • I was casually strolling along, on my way to the shoreline, when I heard something crunch the leaves on the forest floor. I turned quickly expecting to see one of my friends sneaking up on me,but saw nothing. I continued my walk thinking nothing of it,until the steps returned, much faster this time. I thought "let them try to scare me, they'll be in for a surprise".
  • Almost instantly after that my arm exploded in a wave of burning pain. I looked down at the massive weight on my arm, and through the wave of nausea I saw a dog, drooling saliva and my blood from its glistening teeth. I ran, legs stumbling over every hidden root not visible to my tearing eyes, until I made it to the shore, collapsing in pain and exhausted, yet full of adrenaline.
  • That moment changed my life forever. I no longer go in the woods alone, unless i'm in view of others, and I will always watch my back.
  • August 7, 2013 made me what I am today: Cautious, Perceptive, and most importantly, strong.
