  • Talbot-Bunnies and Natural Selection
  • Natural Selection Step 1: Overproduction of Offspring
  • This year I've had 5 offspring and now can continue to produce more!
  • Natural Selection Step 2: Variation
  • All of my bunnies are unique
  • In this story we focus on "Bella" the bunny. Bella lives in the peaceful forest, but not always is it so peaceful.
  • Natural Selection Step 3: Selection/ Predatation
  • Bella and the rest of the bunnies have in between 4 and 12 baby bunnies (kits) per litter. This is to make sure that they reproduce enough for the first step of Natural Selection which is over population.
  • Natural Selection Step 3: Selection/ Predation
  • Oh no the fox ate all of the white bunnies!
  • This season Bella had 5 baby bunnies and after producing more their characteristics began to vary. Just like humans these siblings do not look the exact same. A structural adaptation that accord was that their fur patterns changed, and from eating grass their teeth have also been changing. A physiological change that accord was all of their pheromones differ.  Some of their behaviors change depending on the different species around at the time.
  • Final Step: Adaptation
  • Now that all the white bunnies got eaten we have to reproduce more that're adapted to this environment
  • The bunnies were having so much playing in the grass, they didn't notice once they entered the forest the fox was lurking
  • The Feisty Fox ate all of the white bunnies because they were the easiest to spot in the dark woods. While the rest of them escaped.
  • After safely returning to the peaceful meadow Bella and her friends reproduced as the final step in the process of natural selection. The white bunnies have all died therefore the bunnies reproduce babies with darker fur as a adaptation to increase their life span.
