  • Moses is found in the Nile
  • why would someone just leave their baby in the Nile?

  • Then face the wrath of God
  • NO!!
  • The new pharaoh in Egypt starts a campaign to subdue the Israelites deciding that all Hebrew boys must be killed at birth. The Hebrew women resist, and one woman saves her newborn son by setting him afloat in a basket. Fortunately, Pharaoh’s daughter discovers the abandoned child naming him, Moses
  • Crossing the Red Sea
  • finally, we're free!
  • After killing an Egyptian worker Moses flees to Midian where God, concerned for the Israelites, appears to Moses in the form of a burning bush informing him of his plan to return the Israelites to Canaan. Moses is timid and resists so God presents him with a staff for performing miracles.
  • The Ten Commandments

  • Moses returns to Egypt, where Moses organizes the Israelites and confronts the Pharaoh, demanding the release of the Hebrew people. Pharaoh resists and God responds by inflicting a series of ten plagues on Egypt.
  • The Golden Calf

  • Guided by a pillar of cloud during the day and by fire during the night, Moses and the Israelites head west toward the sea with pharaoh chasing them. Moses, with God's help, parts the sea for the people to cross. Pharaoh follows and Moses closes the waters back again, drowning the Egyptian army.
  • The Israelites arrive at Mount Sinai, where God appears before them. Moses climbs the mountain, and God gives him ten commandments. God explains that if the people will obey these rules, he will keep his covenant and will retrieve from the Canaanites the land promised to Abraham.
  • Moses comes down from the mountain after forty days, to find that the Israelites have a new idol, the Golden Calf. Moses breaks the stone tablets in anger, and God plans to destroy the people. Moses bargains with God and reestablishes the covenant after building a tabernacle based on exact specifications of God.
