The Life of Abraham Lincoln
Lincoln was born on February 12th, 1809. He grew up with his family in Kentucky and lived with his mom, dad, and sister. His sister, mother, and brother all died early in his life.
As he got older, he worked for himself as boat builder, sailing, carpentering, blacksmith, and logger etc.
In 1831, he went to law school at Election Clerk in New Salem. A year later he made his first political speech at Henry Clay Whig Platform.
1834 he was elected for state legislature as Whig. Then the next year he became the post master in New Salem and appointed by President Jackson.
In 1842, he married Mary Todd and had four sons but his youngest son Edward died in infancy.
