  • Chapter 5
  • "why do you got to get killed? you aint so little as a mice, I didn't bounce you hard"
  • "dont u worry none, he was jus' a mutt"

  • Chapter 5
  • "I done another bad thing" "he said..hide in the bush till he come"
  • Lennie kills the puppy by playing with it to hard. Curley wife comes in and consoles him. She tells Lennie how mean Curley is to her and how she could of been a movie star.
  • Chapter 6
  • "hes gonna leave you, ya crazy bastard"
  • "But you don't never take no care, you do bad things"
  • Lennie told Curleys wife he liked to pet soft things. She told him he could touch her hair. His hands got stuck in her hair and she started to scream. He panicked and accidentally broke her neck.
  • Chapter 6
  • "look crossed the river, an I'll tell you so u can almost see the place"
  • Lennie fled the barn and headed to the river like George told him to do it there was trouble. The ranchmen came in and found Curleys wife dead. Curley demanded that they track Lennie down and make him suffer. George knew he had to do something.
  • Chapter 6
  • "You hadda, George. I Swear you hadda"
  • While Lennie quietly waited at the pool edge, thoughts of his aunt Clara and a rabbit popped into his head telling him George would never be free with him around.
  • George found Lennie near the river and told him he would never be mad at him . George again, tells Lennie the story of their dream to own land and have a farm with rabbits. At the end of the story he shoots Lennie in the back of the head.
  • "tell me how its gonna be"
  • After hearing the shot the men ran down to George who was sitting next to Lennie staring at his hands. Slim pulled George up and said, "me and you'll go in an' get a drink". Slim knew George did the right thing by letting Lennie die peacefully rather than by the hands of the cruel ranchmen.
