Why would the Parliament put tax on lead, paint, paper, glass, and tea?
The Townshend Acts
Well, the British government thought that it would help them get back the money spent on the French and Indian war.
That's not fair to people that use lead, paper, paint, and tea. Painters have to pay a lot of taxes because they use most of those items.
The Boston Tea Party
Isn't it unfair that the British parliament makes us colonists drink British tea that is taxed?
Let's go and dump all of these chests of tea off these boats.
Aren't you worried that the king will be mad and punish us? All of this tea looks to be more than a million dollars.
