Storyboard Text

  • Once upon a time there was a DNA strand and an mRNA strand that met each other. The mRNA strand unzipped the DNA strand so it could copy it's gene.

  • After the mRNA strand said "I've got to go," so they said their goodbyes and the mRNA strand headed to the ribosome.

  • I'm going to head to the ribosome
  • The ribosome realized after reading the recipe of mRNA that this needed some Amino Acids. Sure enough the ribosome had some so he could properly correct the amino acids in order to make the mRNA a protein.
  • . recipe of mRNA
  • This mRNA needs some amino acids!

  • After the chef is able to put all of the correct orders of amino acids onto the mRNA then it will become a protein.
  • Protein
  • If something was to go wrong during the transcription process then there are many differences that can happen to the code of DNA. The protein could not be made or if it was improperly. Also there are many types of mutations that can occur if there is a transcription or translation problem during the process. Always the cell tries to fix the mistake. However, if it does not, just that one mRNA molecule is flawed, so even if it does cause a different protein than normal to be translated, the change is not permanent
