Me and some friends were packed tight as our obnoxious selves tried to find ways to pass the time on the 12 hour trip to Sebastian's Inlet.
We arrived at the campground at 7 o'clock already getting psyched for our first day out on the water the next day.
We were about 50 yards from shore and some bombs were rolling through towards the shore and we were having a great time until some 5 and 6 foot sand sharks appeared under our boards in that bright crystal clear blue water.
A storm was off the coast and that was what had been pushing in the waves this whole weekend, so some dark storm clouds rolled through as we sped towards the shore when we had a break from the sharks. 4 of us had made it, but the last one out was the one that got caught.
She had a nice cut down her left upper thigh that was bleeding pretty profusely as we took her down the long narrow forest path back towards the highway away from the beach. The storm had arrived and started hailing pretty hard, and someone had to run a mile to get phone and call for help.
We got an ambulance and made it to the hospital and she got some stitches, but she couldn't go back in the water. She sat on the beach and took pictures as we spent our time back surfing in those same dangerous waters.
