Seminal U.S Documents Essential Question Project
Yo Mr. Q! How do seminal U.S. Documents reflect the beliefs of the people and the foundations of American society?
Well, little boy whose name I don't know, seminal documents typically represent common beliefs which many share, such as freedom and equality, because they either inspire others to take such ideas as their own or help to define them.
For example, Martin Luther King Jr. greatly affected the civil rights movement, and made many people believe in it. His famous "I Have a Dream speech reflected the dream of equality which many harbored...
...and these ideas of freedom and equality provide the foundations of American society! Because they promote these ideas to the rest of the world, they also reflect these foundations to our society.
Right! One would find a great example of this promotion of these ideas which are integral to the foundations to our society with JFK's inaugural address, which preached these important ideas to the world at large, whilst also reinforcing these ideas in the minds of the American people!
