  • That's your ride to L.A. With a stop in Las Vegas.
  • You're a jerk and I don't want your lousy...
  • Gasp!!!
  • Thank you, Lord Ares.
  • Setting: The Diner Parking Lot
  • She's not dead. She's being kept in order to control you.
  • Nobody is controlling me.
  • You owe me one more thing - information about my mother.
  • Setting: The Animal Truck
  • I don't know what my mom will do, I just know I'll fight next to you
  • Bleat. Bleat. Bleat.
  • This impacts the plot because it is where Ares gives the backpack to Percy, Annabeth, and Grover to use for the rest of their quest.
  • Setting: Percy's Dream (Underworld)
  • You summoned him, my lord?
  • No. Blast his father's blood - he is too changeable, too unpredictable. The boy brought himself hither.
  • He is here.
  • This impacts the plot because Percy now knows his mother is not dead and that he still believes he can save her. Ares has suggested that Percy is being controlled by someone.
  • Setting: Las Vegas
  • This impacts the plot because they bond with the animals and with each other. They share secrets about their past experiences.
  • Setting: Lotus Hotel and Casino
  • Groovy.
  • This impacts the plot because even though it is a nightmare, it gives Percy a vision that reveals where his mother is being kept.
  • Impossible!!!
  • This impacts the plot because once the animals escape, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover take off running looking for anything to get out of the heat and get something to eat and drink. It leads them to the Lotus Hotel and Casino
  • Let's get out of this filthy truck.
  • This impacts the plot because Percy realizes that they are in a trap that is distracting them from time and reality. They have to leave in order to get to L.A. in time for the solstice.
