Once upon a time, there were 4 bad guys in New York City. These 4 were hooked on eating carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acid, and protein. These items could only be bought at the store by scientists, eaten by scientists, and only looked at by scientists. Therefore it was illegal for these guys to get ahold of these such precious items they so desired.
After these 4 met and realized they were interested in the same things, the called themselves the Macromolecules Gang and brought terror in the eyes of others.
Day by day, often individually, they would steal the proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acid out of several of the restaurants in New York City.
Oh how they loved these items; they would consume them as often as they got them.
The reason they love these illegal items is because they had done a project about Macromolecules (before the items became illegal). They learned that a protein is the type of nutrient found in meats and that its function is to be the workhorse macromolecule of the cell. Carbohrdrates come in forms such as sugars, starches, and fiber and their function is to provide energy. Lipids comprise of a group of naturally occurring molecules, such as fats and their function is to serve as structural components of cell membranes. Finally, in their last science class they took before dropping out; they learned that nucleic acid is made from monomers known as nucleotides. The nucleotide's function is their ability to carry information from genes in the cell nucleus to certain structures in the cytoplasm.
