Storyboard Text

  • Introduction
  • Fortunato has insulted me for the final time! I must get my vengeance...
  • Claim
  • I've had enough of you insulting me! It's time to get my vengeance upon you!
  • Reason
  • He's finally dead! My work here is done.
  • Help me!
  • In the story "The Cask of Amontillado" written by Edgar Allan Poe, the man Montresor has been insulted by the man Fortunato one of the hundreds of times, but he's been insulted for the final time, and he decides to kill him.
  • Evidence
  • This is madness! Let me out at this instant!
  • Montresors actions of murder by walling him alive were not justified.
  • Analysis
  • I feel great! I feel like I can actually live in peace now!
  • His actions were not justifies because all Fortunato did was insult him a couple of times and killing him by walling him alive is just extremely over the edge.
  • Conclusion
  • "I worked hard. Soon, I had laid the third row, and then the fourth. Fortunato tried to break free. He shook the chains mightily for several minutes. I wanted to enjoy the spectacle, so I stopped my work and sat upon the bones for a bit." (Poe, 33)
  • This shows how mad Montresor is and that Fortunato giving a petty insult makes Montresor kill him. And even if there's evidence of him insulting him in the past, it's still not justified to kill him.
  • Montresor's actions were not justified and he's actually insane and mad.
  • Let's see who insults me next...
