Joe Louis had a rough childhood. His parents and his siblings left him one day when he was at work. His parents had left him after he had got involved in boxing. They left him when he was at work, they didn't like the idea of him working so they had left him to live for himself.
Joe Louis had won 50 amateur fights and 43 of them were knockouts. He was known as the Athlete of the Year. Joe was the boxer of the year 1936, 1938, 1939, and also 1941. Louis was the World Heavyweight Champion and, had the longest reign in boxing history .
Joe Louis had boxed against a German Nazi , Max Schelling and had knocked him out in the first round. Joe Louis was known as the best out there ever since he had knocked him out. Louis was the first true African American national heroes in the United States.
