I am Copernicus, and I developed the Heliocentric theory. This theory states that the sun is the center of the universe. Before I created this theory, people believed Ptolemy's theory, the Geocentric theory, that states that the Earth is the center of the universe.
I am Gutenberg, creator of the printing press. My invention was one of the most important inventions ever. It allowed books to be produced relatively cheaply, and it allowed ideas to be spread very quickly. The printing press also helped Protestant ideas spread.
Hello. I am Martin Luther, leader of the Reformation. The Reformation was a period of time when the Catholic church broke into many different types of Christianity. The church was selling indulgences, certificates that would remove you from sins if you bought it. This, along with many other things, led to people believing the church had strayed from the Bible.
I am John Calvin, a key figure in the Reformation. I founded Calvinism, and I believed in Predestination, the idea that God makes all final decisions in the universe. I preached hard work and good behavior, and I influenced many beliefs and events in my time.
The Renaissance has impacted our modern everyday lives in many ways. For example, without the printing press, we would not be able to print documents . Also, we believe that the sun is the center of the universe, and we can thank Copernicus for that. The Reformation has produced the many different types of Christianity we have today, and the many other inventions, along with other effects the printing press caused, change our lives on a daily basis.
