  • Question?
  • Did filling the tank with gas affect the pressure of the tank?
  • Yes it did
  • how?
  • how can we solve this?
  • we can solve this by using Robert Boyle's gas law
  • History of Robert Boyle
  • Who is Robert Boyle?
  • The gas has a volume of 4.0 L at a pressure of 200kPa enters the gas tank which then expands the volume of the gas tank to 11.0 L. What is the pressure of the gas if the temperature remains constant?
  • Robert Boyle was born in County Waterford in the south-east of Ireland on january 27, 1627 and died in 1691. he is one of the most famous Chemists of all time. He was educated at Eton and then travelled and studied in Europe. In 1662, Boyle originally published the law. Boyle showed that the volume of air trapped by a liquid in the closed short limb of a J-shaped tube decreased in exact proportion to the pressure produced by the liquid in the long part of the tube.
