Storyboard Text

  • Romeo joins the group in town but refuses to fight.
  • Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries That thou hast done me, therefore turn and draw.
  • Romeo, the love I bear thee can afford No better term than this: thou art a villain.
  • Tybalt, the reason that I have to love thee Doth much excuse the appertaining rage To such a greeting. Villain am I none. Therefore farewell. I see thou knowest me not.
  • Mercutio is insulted by Romeo's refusal to fight so he fights Tybalt instead. Tybalt slays Mercutio.
  • This gentleman, the Prince's near ally, My very friend, hath got this mortal hurt In my behalf- my reputation stained With Tybalt's slander- Tybalt, that and hour Hath been my kinsman, O sweet Juliet, Thy beauty hath made me effeminate And in my temper softened valor's steel!
  • Romeo kills Tybalt to avenge Mercutio then leaves. The Prince exiles Romeo.
  • Romeo slew him; he slew Mercutio. Who now the price of his dear blood doth owe? ...Immediately we do exile him hence... Let Romeo hence in haste, Else when he is found, that hour is his last.
  • At the Capulet home, Capulet and Lady Capulet discuss Juliet's marriage with Paris
  • Monday! ha,ha! Well, Wednesday is too soon. A Thursday let it be- a Thursday, tell her, She shall be married to this noble earl.
  • My lord, I would that Thursday were tomorrow.
  • At the church, Juliet tells Friar Lawrence about her wedding with Paris. Friar Lawrence gives Juliet a vial with a potion that will make her seem dead.
  • O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris, From off the battlements of yonder tower; Or walk in thievish ways; ... And I will do it without fear or doubt, To live an unstained wife to my sweet love.
  • Take thou this vial, being then in bed, And this distilled liquor drink thou off... No warmth, no breath shall testify thou livest.
  • In Juliet's bedroom, Juliet drinks the vial
  • My dismal scene I needs must act alone. Come, vial.
