Storyboard Text

  • Setting and Characters
  • Problem
  • Rising Action
  • I have to tell you something...
  • Mary is sitting at home, waiting for Patrick. They usually go out on Thursday nights, and she is eager to greet him.
  • Climax
  • When Patrick comes home, he doesn't want to go out. He won't let Mary make him dinner, and he is acting strange, making himself an extra-strong drink.
  • Falling Action
  • Patrick begins to tell Mary something. She listens in horror.  She doesn't want to believe him, and goes downstairs to make dinner anyway, finding a leg of lamb.
  • Denouement (Resolution)
  • Mary calmly walks upstairs with the lamb, and without hesitating, brings it down on Patrick's head.
  • After she realises what she's done, she goes right into covering it up. She goes out to buy vegetables, then comes home as if nothing happened and puts the lamb in the oven. She is shocked to find Patrick on the floor, and soon calls the police.
  • When the police come, they are very sympathetic to Mary. She asks one thing of them, to eat the lamb she has made for dinner. They oblige, while discussing how easy it will be to find the murder weapon.
