First salt miners from North Africa would come to the river and lay out all of they're goods to trade.
then they would beat drums to indicate they were making a trade.
Then after they beta the drums , they would go several miles away from the site.
Then once the West Africans hear the drums they will come to the river by boat.
They will examine the goods that were left. Then they'll leave the amount of gold they think the salt is worth then beat the drums.
then they beat the drums, then they'll go miles from the site. the North Africans will come back to the river when they hear the drums and if bthey are satisfied with what the other side had offered, they take the goods and the other side will come back and take they're goods.
